Well, here we are again for another round of award nominations. Today we are nominating for The Best Small Fictions Anthology… Best Small Fictions concentrates on stories under 1000 words, making it a perfect spot to recognize the talented writers of our “Quickies” category - stories under 500 words…
This was the hardest award to nominate for because, even using Substack's top post stats, stories kept changing rank so often… and so did my list. Only being allowed 5 stories to nominate is extremely difficult when all are worthy of nomination.
But without any further adieu…
Drum roll, please…
Here are our stellar nominees for The Best Small Fictions, in no particular order …
Congratulations, everyone! 🥳🎉👏🏼 Good luck to you all. I feel confident someone from this list (if not someoneS) will wind up being named a Best Small Fictions story.
If you haven't read any of the nominated stories, please go and check them out. Kara Kahnke’s “Perfect In Love” is the top all-time post on Micromance, and still receives new likes and views each week. Saira Rashid Khan’s “Colour Your Way Back To Me” is full of beautiful poetic imagery, Jonathan Cant explains why “There Is No Going Back To Louisiana,” Karen Baumgart’s “Fracture Lines” is a fantastically emotional read, and H.N. Roberts once “Loved A Boy.”
And that wraps up the Award season for now. But this week we will be announcing the guest judges for The Cupid Prize, with nominations coming in January…
Congratulations to ALL of this year’s nominees… Good Luck to you all!! 🥳
Think happy thoughts,
Gail Lynn, EIC 🥰
Congratulations everyone! 🎉
