At film school, waiting for a meeting, I wandered into the sound department and announced, “I am bored, sire. Entertain me!” The man inside paused, then grinned. Tools down, he broke into a joyful tap dance. I clapped, laughing, as he proudly showed me a unicorn pin, a gift from his 4-year-old daughter’s princess party. “She’ll expect unicorns every year now,” he sighed, showing me a video of her pink cake drowning in candles. “Rookie dad mistake,” I teased. He chuckled, tapping his feet one last time. In that dusty room, for a moment, life sparkled like a Disney movie.
