February Stats

Hey, All… well, February was another awesome month… check out these numbers….

That's some 1,100 views over January, and we only had 28 days!! Imagine if we'd had 30/31 days, like other months! We would have easily been pushing 23,000 views!! And that's phenomenal!!

How about we get March to 25,000!! We can do it!! 😁

Yesterday, there were no posts… I should have posted this, but I was at the eye doctor and had some shopping to do. But even with no posts, we still had nearly 250 views! I can remember when Micromance began and during those first couple months receiving 200 views a day and thinking how awesome that was (and it was!). But now were getting those same numbers on dormant days and how awesome is that! 😁

A Scheduler on Staff

I decided that, yes, I need someone to help out with scheduling. And so Miss Katie Fitzgerald has agreed to not only manage the Micromance Insta account, but be scheduler.

We have run into some technical difficulties, however, in getting her access to the email accounts she need to get into in order to fulfill her job… Gmail’s security is top-notch…lol… Gmail does have a process for adding users, and I just have to find the moment to get on my laptop and do it. But once that's done, everything should begin flowing much smoother and much more quickly.

A Minor Frustration

That was making me want to runaway the other day. For years, I've used Flyer Maker App to make graphics. Thing is, if you don't have the pro plan, graphics have a watermark and the best features aren't free… I've always created graphics without utilizing the whole “canvas” so I can crop out the watermark… this is, of course, an added step and, frankly, hurts the quality of the images.

So, with the donations I received from paid subscriptions, I went ahead and paid for pro. It worked great for a month. Then the app updated and now says I don't have pro access. I have tried restoring the purchase and it says there is no purchase to restore.

I though of uninstalling and re-installing but will probably lose all my graphics - ALL Micromance logos and all of my book cover mockups and sticker designs, etc. 😭

I did finally find an email and contacted the developers who stated I needed to be in Google Play Store with the account I purchased the app in, and I AM. And it still doesn't work. I've emailed them again and am awaiting more assistance.

It's so disheartening - all of it. Trying to improve the Micromance experience at your end and mine… trying to make everything run more smoothly and more quickly, both in getting you replies and for me in designing the promised projects….and being hit head on with all these technical difficulties…

If you're waiting to hear about the scheduling of a piece, be patient! We are working on it…

My new job

Is a part-time one, but is more hours than my last job, and a bit more physically demanding (grocery merchandiser) … so, unfortunately, a lot of my “extracurricular” posts - posts other than contributors stories and poetry - such as “Letters FROM the Editor” posts, may become less frequent. I will still continue to do my best to uplift and promote contributors and share updates like this one. But reading pieces, sending out replies and getting pieces prepared for Katie to schedule takes a lot of time and the top priority of Micromance is to be a platform for writers to get their romantic voices out there… we're here for you, not the other way around.

And I continue to thank you all for your support and patience. We'll get through these technical difficulties. I'll get into a new groove, and once I do, watch out! 😉

World Compliment Day

Yesterday was World Compliment Day… and though it's a day late, I want to take this opportunity to tell you all what awesome and talented writers you are!! Micromance has some of the best contributors in the writing community! You all are amazing at what you do - keep it up!!

I want to thank Katie once again for all she does. I didn't know her prior to her first submission to Micromance Magazine, but she has been an incredible supporter and contributor and has done so much to help me behind the scenes!

I don't know how you do it with a family, homeschooling, your own writing, etc…but thank you! You are awesome, Katie!

One last thing
