From Barbados With Love
Take me Samantha
I beg you,
To your flourishing
Abode within the
Idyllic shores of Barbados.
To the smoothened sands
Of the placid beaches of
Bathsheba. For our
Deep romantic adventure and ecstatic
Surfing.
A split second with you in the land
Of the flying fish, would no doubt,
Be a lifetime to remember. As we
Bask beneath the Caribbean sun,
Amidst the pride of Barbados,
With a flourish, your smile would
Usher me deeper into your world

Swift Dorcas
Come with me to the
Meadows and enjoy
The bucolic life
Of the unruffled
Landscapes.
Amidst the low hills
By the cosy pool,
Where we will bask
In the summer sun.
We will have a summer
Vacation date that
Will leave indelible
Prints in our transient
Memories,
After we must have
Explored our different
Worlds on the smooth
And lush quiet green
Of sunny Spain.

The Magical Gaze
Ingrid and I met in
A ramshackle pub hidden
In the south end of No. 10
O’ Connor street.
I’d gone there to drink my
Depressed state into oblivion.
But before I tasted the rum,
I raised my wearied head dizzily
In a horizontal angle across the pub,
And instantly caught her blue-eyed
Fixed gaze.
I knew instantly that my misery had been
Drowned in her hypnotizing stare.
Our magnetic gazes had become somewhat
Permanently glued to each other.
And her slim Scandinavian elegance was
Forced repeatedly on my attention.
The magical eye contact cured in a split second,
The very reason why I’d gone to seek for
Solace in a tavern.

Open Sesame
I have my plans.
My emotions are deep and
All bottled up.
I want to speak, but my words
Insufficiently convey my strong
Feelings.
I get disarmed when I think of you.
But all I can do now is dream, because
You possess the keys to my own
World. But when can I in turn
Have the keys to your seemingly
Sealed world,
To get to the very centre of you?
Give me the keys to your own
World, so that I can
Loudly and gladly say,
‘Open Sesame.’

From Texas With Love
I played my strings in the
Usual bucolic fashion to
Her utmost delight.
I sang about our trips together
To Alamo.
Our romantic sightseeing tour
In the hot summer.
The rodeo sporting events
We amazingly gazed at in our
Deepest fascination.
The Tex Mex and sumptuous barbeque
Food we relished by day, and the
Continental cuisines by night.
The very pleasant reminder of
The age-old western hospitality.
Whilst I played the melodious tunes
Of the country side,
She lovingly truncated my mellifluous
Song with a French kiss.
Reminding me of the cap-off of
Our Texan visit, when we had deep
Romantic moments at the Sheraton Dallas.
Gorgeous work. The very first lines in "From Barbados With Love" are especially haunting but beautiful. I deeply appreciate the thought that must've gone into these.
The flow and rhythm of these poems is immaculate! ‘From Barbados With Love’ is my favorite out of all of them. Also, I really like this line from one of the poems: “I’d gone there to drink my/Depressed state into oblivion”
