Just Another Day
By Tracy Del Campo
It was just another day, featuring the usual people. Gus behind the wheel in his crisp blue uniform, humming a Sinatra tune. Mrs. Fletcher exchanging recipes with Mrs. Epstein. Victorβs face buried in the morning paper. Opposite him sat Mr. Duncan, dozing with his arms folded and his head against the window.
The bus unexpectedly braked, stuttering to a stop. Silence fell when an auburn-haired young woman boarded. Mrs. Epstein nudged Mrs. Fletcher. All eyes were pinned on the fetching newcomer as she made her way down the narrow aisle.
βMay I?β She pointed to the empty seat beside me.

So many questions..and possibilities galore!π
Ah, what micro-romance might unfold as the "fetching newcomer" takes a seat next to an interested passenger? That is the question burning in my mind...
