Poetry Winner - Ash Douglas

Ash Douglas is an esteemed writer and a passionate poet whose evocative works have been published in a variety of lit mags, including Spillwords Press, Dear Booze, Short Story Lovers, Micromance Magazine, and in Literary Revelations' best-selling anthology, Petals of Haiku.

Ash was voted Author of the Month at Spillwords (April '24) and his poem, A Walk to Bartender, was chosen Cocktale of the Month at Dear Booze (May ‘24), and he was recently recognized as “the 2024 most read poet” published in Micromance Magazine.

Most recently, Ash’s delightful bit of kid lit - a holiday story told in rhyme - The Elf All About Himself, was nominated for a ‘26 Pushcart Prize, two of his lovely haiku were peer nominated for the ‘25 Touchstone Award, his steamy poem, Dirty Dare, was shortlisted in The 2025 Cupid Prize for Excellence in Love Lit (Poetry Category), and he won The Inaugural 2025 Cupid Prize for Excellence in Love Lit (Poetry) for his romantically sentimental poem, Love Is…

“Love Is…” is also included in Micromance Magazine’s upcoming poetry anthology, Like Naked Taunts: Poetically Honest Words of Love and Lust (tentative late-March release), and will be featured in the upcoming The Cupid Prize Anthology (tentative April release).

For many years, Ash has collected his thoughts, feelings, and emotions to the world around him through journaling, then he shares those sentiments with the world through his beautiful poetry and thoughtful blog posts.

Ash likes to say, “I don’t claim to be a great writer, but I’m enjoying the journey of becoming one.”
