Mystery Man
By Jennifer Anne F. Messing
Oh handsome, mystery man
I’ve often seen you in my dreams—
There you stand, smiling—
Softly beckoning me, it seems.

Your eyes speak and call to me,
Without words, they say my name.
My heart beats, I am drawn—
Sense something new, it’s not the same.

I feel as if I know you,
This magic moment meant to be—
Our meeting is not by chance;
It was ordained, don’t you agree
🩷🩷🩷
You are perfect in every way,
Your wavy hair, your laugh, your hands—
As we open up and chat
I find a friend who understands.

How can I be so lucky?
You’re genuine, true, and kind;
Standing with you, I am so ready
To leave my single life behind.

I’ve been waiting for a man
Who will hold me with gentle care,
Commit to love and cherish me—
And build a life that we can share.

Oh Mystery Man, let’s sail away
To a land of wedded bliss,
Tender our vows, exchange our rings,
Then seal our love with a kiss.

So simple, yet so effective. Poetry doesn’t need grandiose words, just ordinary easily understood words that warm the soul. Love it.
This love poem says it all! It is as much a poem as it is a romantic story.
