Sophie dug her fingers into the armrest of the chair.
“First piercing?” Kyle asked.
“You can tell?” Sophie grimaced.
Kyle inked a dot on Sophie’s left nostril. “Deep breath. Relax. You‘ll feel a quick pop and a pinch.”
“I’ll manage. I’m a pediatric nurse. My whole day is pops and pinches.”
Kyle chuckled, sterilizing the needle.
Sophie inhaled, fixating on the constellation of stars tattooed around his temple, framing his bright green eyes. “Do you get a lot of newbies?”
“Lots of first timers, but not beautiful ones.” He winked.
Sophie smiled. Felt a pop, a pinch… and a spark.
That was short and sweet, but definitely worth fleshing out into a short story maybe?
