Submission Updates, Another Way to be a Part of Birthday Anthology, and a Little Shameless Self-promotion....

Hi, all … back again! This time a quick reminder that Micromance is celebrating one year of being open in June and submissions to our anthology “One Year Later…” are open until March 31….

Also, if you want to be a part of the celebration, but don't plan to submit a story for a chance to be included, then how about sending us some birthday greetings?! All “birthday cards” will be published in the anthology!!

And… I know many of you design your own graphics for promoting your stories on social media … if you have original graphics/art that you'd like at the top of your post, send it along with your work… format it as you would a Facebook cover photo or similar … I shouldn't have to say this, but unfortunately I do - please, no erotic/pornographic/overly graphic or suggestive images … these will be rejected.

More Stories Please….

Lately, I've received several Sweet Nothing and Quickies submissions that are actually Prose Poetry. As beautifully written as they are, poetry is open to poems of any length (word count). If you have a poem that's 150 words, still submit as Poetry, not as a Quickie. But I have a feeling most writers don't realize they've even written poetry. I'm working on some other articles that address this. And I'm thinking of a way to host a workshop or some type of class …maybe a podcast?! Not sure… but there are a lot of beautiful poets out there who may not even realize they are bards, and they need to know to tap into their awesome talent and (purposely) create more.

Because of the influx of prose poetry, I'd love to see more microfiction stories - “She glanced across the room and saw the hunky man of her dreams staring back and, when he smiled, she thought she'd spontaneously combust” kind of stories, please 😁…😂

But seriously, I can definitely use more stories in the 100-500 word range… themes of spontaneous combustion will score bonus points… 😂
