Turns Out My Father Was Right

I so badly want you to be right

I wanted to quit being alone in the fight

So I trusted you and put my faith in you

My Dad told me to stay away

Saying you would only cause me more pain

But I didn’t listen

I loved you too much

And so you came like a thief

In the night and cut my heart into pieces with your lies

Here I sit in misery broken feeling more alone than an abandoned token

Wondering how I could of been such a fool

turns out

my father was right
