When I Close My Eyes
We start off Valentine's Week with this beautiful poetry By Pam Martin-Lawrence
Boneless in the afternoon glow.
Empty head filled with music while eyelids fight, then lose, their battle with gravity.
Golden light teasingly caresses me –
simply sunlight through thin skin, or the glorious strobe of your glances?
Are those warm breezes lifting wispy hairs at my neck, shivering me?
Or soft sighs against my skin?
Those rippling tiger-stripes, are they curtains shifting behind wide-flung windows,
or your shadow over me?
Quicksilver tracing out veins: surely the fireworks your eyes set off when you map my skin?
I always see you most clearly when I close my eyes on hazy summer days.

"Empty head filled with music while eyelids fight, then lose, their battle with gravity"
great line
Such poetic depictions of the feeling of love. Could be included in many Valentine Day cards.
