TiF isn't a contest. Don't want to give off that impression. If so, then everyone is a "winner" and there are definitely no losers. It's just a way for all fiction writers to promote their work and for readers of fiction to recommend fiction they've read throughout Substack. The selection process is very much random. Or as random as I can make it.
I apologize.... I didn't mean to give that impression, either, hence the quotation marks around contest - I just didn't know how else to describe it, as being chosen TIF seems to be quite the accomplishment to some that I've seen named such - at least by their comments it's something to be proud of. I completely understand it's a place for writers to promote themselves or be promoted (recommended), and I think it's an awesome idea!! Love it! And that's why I wanted to both take part and recommend your Substack to others.... 😁 (Update: I have corrected the post...again, I apologize... )
No worries. It's just when people see the word "contest" they think of it as a competition and that's not what this is. I'm not vetting the stories submitted and choosing "the best" or "my favorite." It's a purely random decision, though I try to make sure people who haven't been previously featured appear.
